The "Why"
Ocie Health & Midwifery, PLLC was founded in response to a simple but persistent gap: routine perinatal care is often rushed, impersonal, and simply inadequate for the transition and vulnerability that it brings. I want to fill this gap. From personal experience, years of supporting individuals through the postpartum phase, and understanding the evidence of maternal health in this country, things need to change.

Perinatal care is being brought back to its roots; to support and care for the whole family, optimize overall health, and build community.

Ocie is a name derived from "Ocean." It represents strength, depth, adaptation, and tranquility, and for me, the shifting tides and waves of female reproductive health. If we are prepared, and cared for, we can ride these waves easily. If not, we risk getting caught unprepared for a big wave or storm. Our perinatal healthcare system needs to better prepare, care for, and support families through these changes, particularly in the postpartum setting. That is what Ocie Health and Midwifery is set out to do. Join me.
